If you like this, read the first 100 pages of Howard Zinn's History of America, wherein he catalogs the amazing journals of the Jamestown settlers that went cannibal and then zombie, before importing slaves and Irish to do work and starve in their stead. Warning, you won't be able to stop after the first 100 pages.. it's addictive.
