Turn an IKEA CD Rack into Budget-Friendly, Space-Saving Planters

CDs? CDs!  People forget how "portable media" used to be sold and played via plastic-coated discs that looked like smaller versions of the albums you see spinning at LCD Soundsystem concerts.  An entire economy was built around the accumulation and storage of such discs.  Now a garage full of CDs an cassettes fits on your phone, but most people just subscribe to a service in the "cloud".  Why do I share this?  

Reduce. Re-use. Recycle. Altogether now!  

CDs racks actually make very fine herb garden planters for your window or exterior.  Check it.
