I use this in English all the time...."missed call"

We call it "drop calling". You can do it if you don't want to spend money or as a way of exchanging numbers. So someone will give you their number and you'll drop call them so they then have yours. Also a good way of checking they've given you the right number :P

We've always called this 'pranking'... Like 'prank me when you arrive'

In rural part of India this is a common practice and the word for this is a mix of English and Hindi (Indian Language): miscall marna (to make a missed call). Note that the word miscall here means to show one's intention to talk or availability for talk. It is a money saving tactics of the village folks when talking to their relatives or kin living in town.

This was like collect calls back in the old days. When the operator asks you what your name is, you would say, "ComepickmeupatBills" and hang up.
