The reputation of weight-lifting or resistance training as a means of adding muscle has had a negative affect on awareness of why there are actually more important reasons to do it, none of which have anything to do with adding muscle.

I've heard it stated simply that almost everybody (men and women) should be lifting and otherwise moving heavy things (safely of course) for the fastest and most effective full-body workout.

Liked that Crossfit article--it's true. Working out in the AM sets the tone for the day. I'll never be paleo--vegetarians really can't, but it always sets the mood in the right direction.
