Libya Take 2: Beyond the Video - the next wave of understanding what happened on the attack on the US Consulate in Libya and ensuing spread of protests

Category: News | 3089 views | Created: 09/14/12
While initial reports of the attack cited protesting sparked by an offensive video, the attack in Libya is different from other nonviolent protests - like Egypt. We're understanding more about the situation, but the rabbit hole goes deeper.

Good job of presenting an overview of the attacks. I'm sharing this board with people who are having knee-jerk reactions and calling all Muslims terrorists.

Thanks. I'm trying.... there is such a potential for conflict here, and it can be avoided if people aren't hasty, and don't throw more fuel on a fire. It's like a big psychological trip-wire... getting angry, calling all Muslims terrorists, and hating on Middle Easterners is EXACTLY WHAT THE 'BAD GUYS' WANT - so we ought not play into their hands.

By understanding the difference between people being mildly discontent, and those that actually have violent intentions against "The West", the US, or whoever else, hopefully understanding can be achieved. We should stand with the Libyans who demonstrated showing us support - that's my personal take anyway.
