Category: Politics | 3005 views | Created: 09/09/12
Seventeen states and the District of Columbus have rid their justice systems of the death penalty. On Nov 6, 2012, California voters will be asked to vote on Proposition 34, the SafeCalifornia Act that serves to repeal the Death Penalty.

To me it comes down to three things: Prevention, Cost and Morality. There is no proof that capital punishment reduces murder. The cost of life imprisonment is way lower than that of executing someone. Morality is trickier, but given recent cases involving new DNA evidence, the moral cost of killing an innocent person seems too high.

Death penalty should be left alone. Some monsters are not meant to livebut our system is so corrupt we don't know truth from lies and neither does the govt.

Good info here on a very important topic. i'm anxious to see how this turns out. I personally believe we shouldn't have the death penalty for many reasons. But most important I believe we should solve a problem instead of trying to "erase" it.
