Definitely some things to try here. Particularly for the weeks when I can't construct a sentence to save my life.

I seem to get inspiration at the wrong time..like when I'm dozing off to sleep at night. That's when ideas and words come to me. Is there some kind of bedtime routine or practice (like journaling) that you suggest to help creative juices, but will also allow you to come back to your thoughts the next day when it's time to write?

I recommend setting aside a specific time each day/week to write. Scheduled it like you might a meeting, or workout, it's just as important to the creative process as anything else. Many often suggested to me to write just before bed, but I found if I schedule the time, I train myself and lose the thoughts less often as a result.
